Energizing its Cybersecurity Strategy with Airlock Digital Application Control

          [Music] SA Power Networks is the sole electricity distributor that provides electricity to 1.7 million South Australians. Our cyber security strategy is really focused on reducing cyber security risk. As part of that, application control really focuses on our environmental compromise and our ability to detect and respond to emerging threats. We have an ever-increasing complex threat environment with IT/OT. So, the attack surface is actually quite significant and we need to work on reducing our cyber security risks.

          The second part is compliance with regulatory framework. So, we had two frameworks that we need to comply with. The Australian energy sector security framework which included application control and then the defense industry security program which allows us to open up new business opportunities. [Music] We chose Airlock Digital from a rigorous RFQ/RFI process that we put out to the industry and we asked a number of questions focusing around application control and Airlock Digital was one of the products that could actually tick all the boxes

           and when we came to product demonstrations and proof of concepts, was really nice to implement and work through. Deploying Airlock agents across our endpoints was simple and easy. Working with our implementation partner, we set those agents in audit mode and created use cases for evaluation and investigation to guide our path to enforcement. We were ready to move into enforcement mode and had the confidence to do so because we knew there would be no impact. One of the key requirements through the RFI process was integration

          with our existing suite of products. It allows us a bit more of a real-time view into our environment and control. Airlock Digital delivers powerful cyber security protection across our endpoints. Minimizing our attack surface, managing a key cyber risk and achieving Level One compliance against the defense industry security program were the major goals for the project. And Airlock helped us tick each of these boxes. By implementing Airlock in enforcement mode, all the unapproved applications don't have the ability to

          run anymore, which meant our SOC team had more free time to focus on our other technology investments. Highlights from the Airlock deployment were reduction in our endpoint detection response or EDR alerts. The second highlight was fixing a blind spot and onboarding our apps the right way. The third point which really impacted our IT teams was improving their patch management processes. Having every application come through the new software request from allowed them to take a feed from that added to their

          patching cycles and update them accordingly. Airlock Digital allows us to be a more secure environment and reduce risk overall. We had great support from their team and the implementation partner which made the journey very easy to do. And being in operational mode now for a few months, it's never been easier. [Music]
